Think Positive, Be Happy, Live Longer!

I have been interested in medical studies since I was a teen. I was excited when I heard about the Blue Zones, areas of the planet that have been pinpointed were people live longer. I am particularly interested in this because of my grandfather, who lived to be 108!

I am primarily a happy person. I am thankful for all the things I have. I love to create, share and learn. 2004 was the beginning of a major growth period in my life. I went through 5 of the events that are in the top 10 as stressful life events, in a short period of time. I would not change what happened. It changed my perspective forever. It made me realize how good my life is and how even the simple things that people do make huge differences in our lives. It also made me realize that no matter what happens in my life I still can choose to be positive. I changed my way of thinking by writing letters to myself stating all the things that I knew I needed to hear that no one was saying to me, hung up little positive messages to myself and quotes, read positive books, started to connect more with the people in my life that were the happy and joined the gym. This is not to say that I ignored my feelings, I expressed them and then let them go by putting them in perspective, so I could enjoy the good things that were happening.

Our purpose in life is to find what makes us happy. This is what every person searches for in their life. What primarily makes us happy in life is determined by the individual.

The end of eBay's Monopoly

As a seller on eBay I have to say that over the past year ebay has fallen as my favorite market place. The no links policy hurt sells for many of us and they keep raising their fees. Sellers are moving to other sites like Amazon and Craig's List and buyers are following!

They have made many attempts that were clearly a way to keep hold of the advantages that they had. The problems is they are not that friendly when it comes to be social on the web, and so they are being left behind. Like AOL did when they tried to keep users away from other sites back in the ninties, they have lost part of what made them sticky by giving sellers less options.

There are many ways to sell and market now and if ebay is not willing to change and keep up with the new needs they will be left behind. They, like so many other past sites will be out of fashion.

Twitter Will Go Mainstream, And Here is Why!

As many of you know, I love to Tweet! I will even Tweet for tea!

I think that Twitter will 'tip' in the next year and go viral in a very big way because it is so easy to use and it takes very little time to connect to other people. This is the uniqueness of Twitter. It is simple, like taking a snap shot with words. This is missing from other social networking sites, like My Space and Face book. You can connect quickly and get on with your life. I find most other sites take way more time than I want to spend behind the keyboard.

I find it is a very good social networking tool that is helping people become more familiar with my artwork. It also gives people a sense of who I am, what I spend my time doing and taps into other people who are passionate about the same things that I am. And the best thing about it is that I can share these things quickly. I love it! It is so simple, and yet such a rich resource!

Pipilotti Rist: Pour Your Body Out @ MOMA

I just got back from the Pipilotti Rist intimation at the MOMA. It is such an amazing design. At first you feel as if you have motion sickness because you feel as if you are moving even though you are not. Once you get over the first impression though you can relax and enjoy it as if you were floating around in the space even though you are still.
If you want to see it better hurry it ends February 2, 2009!

The bees here are thriving. There is certainly no shortage.

I thought the markings on this moth were so beautiful I needed to share them. If anyone knows what kind it is please post!

Breton is know for it's flowers. I have been shooting them quite a bit this trip. They are everywhere in the small town.

The colors are so bright they make the country side glow!

I have been so busy and had little time to edit all the photos I have been taking. So, I spent some of yesterday evening editing so I could post some today.

I have been eating very well here. The food tastes so much better here. The butter is very sweet and creamy, the turkey has more flavor than what we have in the states, so is the lamb and the cheese is amazing! The traditional foods here are crapes and galettes. The honey smells like wildflowers and the cider here is the best I have ever had!

Also, there is food growing wild everywhere as weeds! There are blackberries, chestnuts, buckeyes, spearmint, elderberries, mushrooms and rosemary growing wild all over!

This is another shot from my window. The evening light is beautiful here!

The rooftops here in this old town are like the ones out of a Dr.Seuss story, the way they are all stuck in together at different angles.

They are mostly made of slate and last a very long time. So long that moss grows and sometimes almost cover the roof.

I am working and playing in Rochefort-en-Terre for the month of September! It is beautiful here. I posted a map below.

I visited the French coast line. Stopped at the Domaine de Rochevilaine. It is a restaurant and spa that is built upon the ruins of 16th and 17th century Breton stone buildings. Here are a few details of the stone carvings.
